Start Cylinder– May exit through top. May be inside or outside the cylinder for required 2 minutes below 4500 feet MSL.
Declared tasks get a 10% bonus.
Minimum task time is 2 hours. Minimum distance is 50 miles (statute). Non-handicapped.
> Water ballast is allowed without extra handicap.
> You must use the Northern Illinois Soaring Contest turnpoints.
> Airspace around the Joliet Racetrack is also prohibited when the TFR is active
> Long task bonus: You will be scored on speed = distance / (time + 20 minutes).
Finish – Penalty below 1500ft MSL Finish more than 200ft low (1300ft MSL or lower) you are scored as landing out.
You can use a 5 mile “safety finish” if it is unsafe to enter the 1 mile circle or land at the airport.
