Project Plan

In November 2009, on the occasion of the 4th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC),China proposed to set up AfricanProductsExhibitionCenter to promote African exports to China. This measure was included in the FOCAC, Sharm elSheik Action Plan (2010-2012). The Center will be located in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, and take the Yiwu International Trade mart, which enjoyed the reputation as a platform for famous brands, as the venue to expand influence.

1. Location: China Yiwu International Trade Mart.

2. Site Area: 5,000 square meters. Special areas have been opened up for 49 African countries as trade & exhibition extentwith 100 square meters for each.

Positioning of the Project

Enlarged in the exhibition of genuine African products with unique features which conform to Chinese market demands, theproject aims at exploring Chinese market and expanding re-export trade, and to promoting all-round cooperation andexchanges in economy and trade, culture, information, tourism and many other fields between China and Africa.

Cooperation Mode

Government cooperation as the base, the project will adopt market operation. The traders or the trade promotionorganizations involved in this project will be designated by African government to be the business entity in Yiwu, who isresponsible for the display, marketing and other operational work.

Support Policies

1. Free of charge for three years of the renting, property management fees, air-conditioning charges and electricitycharges in public areas to be shared;

2. Professional teams will be organized supporting the maintenance and daily management of the Center.

3.At the opportunity of being the comprehensive reform pilot in international trade, Yiwu will accelerate the formulation ofsupporting policies in the respect of comprehensive bonded logistics park and commodity supervision, to ensure smoothentering of the African products to the Center.

4.Advices service will be provided to African traders in the aspects of management and trading.

5.Make best use of the resources such as news media, exhibitions, shopping tours and China’s overseas organizationsto carry out promotion work through multiple channels to enhance brand influence of the Center.

6.Provide full assistance and support offering import and export service, travel agency, financial settlement, E-commerceplatform, and etc.
