New Business

Testing wasdiscussed and the following information was clarified during the meeting in regards to the limited amount of A days in November and December. Mrs. Beverly Neel will allow specialty days. There will be a new calendar with the specialty days converted to days needed for AP Exam, STAAR and EOC Testing.

Students that miss school on the test days in December will be able to make up the test January 4, through January 6, 2017. (It is recommended and we will vote after Ms. Thomas has examined the policy)

It is recommended that our AP exam be in written format, the same as an AP Placement Exam.

Bond Construction

Refrain from using the narrow, steep stair case located beside Ms. Thomas’ office. The stair case will be demolished to increase space on the first floor.

Q: Some of us work late on campus, and want to know when the crew is workingso that we can avoid the dust and noise? Do we have a schedule and location as to construction inside the building after hours?

A: When there is not a planned event, they will work after school.

School Improvement

Q: Many 6th graders are in need of basic computer skills, can all 6th graders be enrolled in computer skills class starting next year?

A: Students may receive computer training during Rose Camp in a more structured, academic and focused environment. After budget questions, the Mavis Beacon program is suggested as a learning tool for computer skills.
