Role Purpose

To ensure the accurate and timely payments of salaries, wages and expenses to employees, the remittance of statutory deductions to the appropriate authorities and the management of starters and leavers. To ensure the data protection act and statutory requirements are adhered to at all times.

Key Responsibilities

·  To complete weekly/monthly payrolls, ensuring all timesheets, overtime, expense forms and any other payroll documentation have been processed

·  To meet processing deadlines

·  To ensure that NIC and PAYE deductions are made

·  Recording and manual calculation of SSP and company sick pay

·  Calculations of any Maternity or Paternity payments due to employees

·  Ensure all claim forms received from employees are appropriately authorised

·  Bonus payments, pension deductions, AEO & DEA deductions

·  Checking payrolls to ensure that processing is correct

·  To investigate and answer any queries raised by employees

·  To liaise with HMRC, the benefits agency, mortgage lenders, county courts, etc regarding payroll queries and attachment of earnings orders etc

·  Balance voluntary deductions ready for payments to be sent to third parties

·  Filing of enquiry forms, tax forms and weekly/monthly payroll information

·  To keep Manager up to date on a regular basis

·  To liaise with HR and site Management with regards to payroll matters

Qualifications and Experience

·  Must have knowledge and practical experience of end to end payroll in a high volume department, including gross to net calculations, tax code notices, benefits in kind, statutory, contractual and voluntary deductions, RTI/Auto Enrolment.
