Agur Lake Camp Society’s mission statement is:
To operate and enhance our barrier-free wilderness camp for children and adults with special needs along with their families and caregivers.
The 10th Annual Swing for Kids Charity Golf Tournament is an event to raise funds and awareness for the Agur Lake Camp Society. This event offers companies such as yours an opportunity to support a truly unique facility that is located just outside of Summerland in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. This year’s event will be held May 26th, and will be proudly hosted at the Summerland Golf & Country Club.
Agur Lake Camp is BC’s only barrier-free, wheelchair accessible camp; a 54-acre site with fully cabins, docks, trails, picnic pavilion, and fire pit area. The camp offers people with disabilities and their families/caregivers the unique opportunity for rest, rejuvenation and creating memories with one another in nature. This unparalleled experience might not have been an option for people who have been given more challenges than most to deal with.
Our campers include anyone with special needs, physical disabilities, limited mobility, as well as seniors. Frequent guests include Special Olympics Athletes, Group Homes, Support Groups,Associations, Retirement Homes as well as clients/members of the MS Society, CRIS Adaptive Adventures, Access Revolution, Accessible Okanagan, BC Mobility Opportunities, as well as their families.
