(the story is told in three parts and an epilogue)

Film

Adam and Eva live the lives of entrapment. Adam, a young photographer on the rise, neglects his artistic aspirations to make money shooting porn. Eva, a graduate student of journalism is married to Joseph, a comatose husband, uncommunicative for over two years. They discover soulmates in each other and fall in love but hide their secrets. Later, Eva decides to free herself from living in her lies but also confronts Adam about his hypocrisy of a porn photographer posing for an artist.

Sequel (Part 1)

A year later, Adam and Eva arrive at a remote cottage to celebrate their honeymoon. It seems like the past brought the closer together. Two strangers, Craig and Allen, arrive claiming they already reserved the cottage for a week-long hunting trip. Eva and the men recognize each other, but say nothing in Adam’s presence. The next day, armed with his hunting rifle, Craig confronts the terrified and bewildered couple. The past catches up with them as Craig waves his firearm and rants about Eva ruining his family. Adam realizes again how little he knows his wife. Shots ring out.

Prequel

Five years earlier, Adam dates Lily, but their relationship is more about sex and photography than romance. Meanwhile, Eva, sophomore at college, explores the lives of other men. She sets up an internet date with Craig. Later, she begins an affair with her married professor, unaware that he is Craig’s father. When Craig sees his father with Eva, he suffers from a seizure; the ensuing confrontation ends the romance between Eva and his father. After these tumultuous events, Eva finds solace and love in her future husband Joseph. Adam and Eva’s paths cross but they are not ready for each other yet.

Sequel (Part 2)

Back at the cottage, Adam and Eva survive Craig’s assault, but their relationship is at the crossroads. Now, they know so much about each other that they question their future together.

Epilogue

The story blends the couple’s present with their possible futures, together or alone. At a highway intersection, four cars approach:

1.  Adam, with Eva and two children in tow, drives a mini-van out of a Wal*Mart parking lot.

2.  Eva and Adam, listening to jazz and accompanied by two dogs, travel in a Volvo.

3.  The couple from the present, having made a decision, approached the same intersection.

4.  A fourth car with ominously tinted windows approaches, representing other, perhaps darker, possibilities.
