Classroom Notes for Room 30
Week of September 26 through September 30, 2016
Monday is Day #3 of our five-day specials schedule.
Grandparents Day- Grandparents Day was big fun for the 4th graders on Friday. It was a pleasure to have them in the classroom and to see them take the students without guests under their wings.
Parent-Teacher Conferences- Please don’t forget to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences. At last check, there were still about ten parents not signed up. I would be happy to assign you a time in Skyward if you need help.
Conference Scheduler- The Skyward Conference Scheduler family access is set to open Monday, 9/19 at 5:00 PM and close on Friday, 9/30 at 4:00 PM. I have tweaked some times for the Monday and Tuesday before and also some very early times in the morning for those that work early. If you have trouble meeting during any of the times, please let me know. I hope to meet with every family.
Wander Indiana Project- Students took home an important packet on Friday about a year-long project called Wander Indiana. Students research a site in Indiana and then present information to the class in April. Please look for and return the page 4 of the packet by Wednesday of this week. The form is called the Parent Awareness form. All of the forms are available on our Room 30 Classroom Website.
Book It!- Watch for the October calendar for Pizza Hut’s Book It! program. The should see the reading is an expectation during the months of October through March. Extra calendars are available on our Classroom Website.
Mother-Son Dance- The Mother-Son Dance will be held on Friday evening.
PTO BOOK FAIR- The ‘Bookaneer!’ Book Fair will run from Sept. 30-October 6th. Student will attend the fair during their library times.
Student Council Project- Our very responsible student council representatives are working to serve the Ronald McDonald House by collecting soda can tabs. Thank you, Rachel and Savannah! (Shame on Teacher for just now letting parents know!)
Fundraiser- Student should have brought home a fundraiser packet on Friday. All orders are due on Monday, September 26th. Order Pickup Night is November 3, 2016
Operation Bundle Up- United Way and Milto Cleaners are again sponsoring Operation Bundle Up. From Sept. 12th-October 7th, are hoping to collect new hats, mittens or scarves along with new or gently used winter coats.
Book Talks- The students’ planning pages will come home today. They may use the page to practice and prepare a book talk that is due on Monday, September 26th.
