The abuse of prescription medications and over-the-counter remedies is the most unrecognized, under screened, under arrested and under treated dangers in society. Fasten your seat belts as this training will plunge attendees into a world of evolving criminal and aberrant social behaviors that most of our population is unaware of. Participants will acquire scientifically-grounded information on recognizing how the improper use of these pills and potions change the brain. 5.5 CEU’s have been approved for Licensed Mental Health Practitioners, Licensed and Provisional Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Social Workers, Nurses, Prevention Professionals, Case Workers, Juvenile Justice, Law Enforcement officials and others who work in the criminal justice system.

Chuck Matson is a nationally known speaker and instructor on the effects of psychoactive drugs. His educational programs have been used across the nation and overseas as well as being referenced in national publications. Chuck is a 25+-year veteran of the Omaha Police Department. In 1998 he formed Recognizing Impairing Drugs (RID) Training, a consultation and schooling service on the danger of addictive drugs. Chuck is a certified instructor of the U. S. Department of Transportation’s Drug Evaluation and Classification Program (DECP). As a member of a select group of nationally certified Drug Recognition Expert Instructors, he has provided training for law enforcement officers, educational institutions, government agencies, medical personnel, and businesses on reliable techniques of evaluating individuals who display signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug impairment.
