COUN 985: Counselor Education and Supervision
INTERN GOALS/OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES FORM
Doctoral students are required to complete a doctoral-level counseling internship with a minimum of 600 hours including over the span of two semesters of supervised experiences in counselor education and supervision. These experiences should include a minimum of three of the following: teaching, clinical supervision, counseling, leadership and advocacy, and research and scholarship. The models and ethical issues surrounding consultation are also emphasized.

Teaching / 105 hour requirement
- Delivering classroom instructor (3 hours weekly; 45 hours total)
- Preparing for classroom instructional activities (2 hours weekly; 30 hours total).
- Grading (2 hours weekly; 30 hours total)
Supervision / 75 hour requirement
- Co-leading group supervision sessions with a department faculty (1.5 hours weekly; 22.5 hours total)
- Individual and/or Triadic Supervision as a supervisor (22.5 total)
- Supervision Preparation (e.g., reviewing case notes, audio or video tapes, etc.) (30 hours total).

Counseling/Consultation / 100-200 clock hour requirement
The number of clock hours is designated by the University Faculty Supervisor. Follow the procedures noted in the Advanced Counseling Practicum course.
Note: The need to complete hours in counseling is a joint agreement between the Internship Course Instructor, Intern, and the University Supervisor.
