REFLEXION AUTOUR DES MODES DE STRUCTURATION DES RESEAUX DE SANTE ET DES ORGANISATIONS EN SANTE

Bertrand PAUGET

EuropeanBusinessSchool, Paris, France,

Abstract: This theoretical paper is based on previous articles written by the author. Indeed, we believe that the organizations must be analyzed beyond the classic opposition between mechanistic and organic organizations (Burn and Stakler, 1961 Wine et al., 2006). The organizations in the health sector are seen as a relational organization. We explore the potential outcomes of this vision of the organization.

PROSPECTIVE PAYMENT SYSTEMS AND EVOLUTION OF MANAGEMENT CONTROL IN FRENCH HOSPITALS: AN OVERVIEW

Abstract: This analysis aims at contributing to the debate by exploring recent changes in French public hospitals. It will try to show how a new financing system can entail deep changes inside the management architecture. The structuring of the management control function is still in gestation. In most hospitals surveyed, this function is still at its early stages. There is still a long way for management control in acquiring a real legitimacy, especially from professionals. A key to success lies in the ability of institutions to recruit (and retain) a staff up to the current stakes, both able to overcome technical difficulties of the hospital management (including the T2A) and place themselves in intermediation between medical and management logics.

L’INTUITION DES DIRIGEANTS: ESSAI DE DEFINITION ET CONCEPTIONS MANAGERIALES

Ahmed DAMMAK

Groupe ESC Troyes, Troyes, France,

EuropeanBusinessSchool, Paris, France

Abstract: There is in France and more generally in Europe a paradox. In the agro industry business, the use of biotechnology is suspicious and controversy (see for example the emblematic case of GMOs), the subject is little debate in the health sector. Yet, in those two sectors, the production process of biotechnology is the same. How can we explain those differences? This article aims to explain the reasons for the acceptance of biotechnology in the business of health. Health professionals interviewed in this study leave use the biotechnology as a tool to improve their practices and benefiting their patients. In doing so, they play a key role to facilitate their consumption by the public. This article is based on a qualitative and exploratory methodology. Our sample consists of leaders of biotech companies or selling biotechnology and doctors who use them.

Bertrand PAUGET, Mathieu CABROL

Université de Savoie, IAE, Chambéry, France

Abstract: The role of entrepreneurs is highly regarded in our societies. It is widely recognized that their roles are not limited to the private sector, but can affect all sectors of the economy. In view of this, we focus on entrepreneurs acting in the healthcare sector. We concentrate more particularly on these entrepreneurs' specific competences. We propose to conceptualise the concept of relational competence, defined as the act of building and structuring relationships in order to adapt and innovate in a given environment. The aim of this exploratory study is to better understand why this type of competence is expected on the construction site of a new hospital in France.
