The Up Center is a nonprofit United Way Community Partner agency that provides uniquely personal services to more than 10,000 children, families and individuals each year. The Up Center has one of the most service integrated environments in Hampton Roads to aid adults, families and children in improving their lives through counseling. The Up Center is taking a lead role in the provision of Trauma Informed Services with TI based supervision and service delivery.
DUTIES:Under the direction of the Clinical Director and within the limitations of agency policy, the incumbent shall execute the following duties:
Direct Service Duties
- Provide regular and scheduled clinical and administrative supervisionto assigned residents and interns.
- Participate in the facilitation or co-facilitation supervision and training of group facilitators.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of clinical treatment provided to clients, by assigned clinicians.
- Complete requisite supervision documentation and performance evaluations for residents or other assigned staff.
- Provide oversight of assigned psycho-educational trauma group services and trauma-focused therapy group services in Outpatient Counseling Services, to include tracking and providing information on group services and outcomes for reporting and presentation to funding sources as indicated.
Direct Service Duties
- Provide direct clinical counseling to a small case load (5 to 8 clients) to include individuals, families, marital counseling, parent/child counseling, substance abuse counseling, etc.
- Utilize a variety of treatment modalities according to requirements of caseload, with incorporation of a Trauma Informed Care approach.
- Performs tasks related to direct practice such as writing progress notes, assessments, 90-day reviews, discharges summaries, using the agency’s paper or web based documentation system, and provide case management functions such as making referrals to other agencies, preparing monthly reports and testifying in court as indicated.
- Participate in education and trainings for community partner agencies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinical programs and training.
- Participate in seeking, initiating/developing and reporting on grants and new programming
- Participate in collaborative management of clinical services with other supervisory clinicians and support the Director of Outpatient Clinical Services
- Attend staff meeting as required
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Professional Counselor eligible for or certified by Commonwealth of Virginia to provide Clinical Supervision to LPCs .
- Knowledge of principles and practices of professional counseling, substance abuse including Trauma Informed practices and approaches.
- Knowledge of the functions of social service agencies.
- Ability to work effectively with other professional disciplines.
- Communication skills, including the ability to write case records, letters, and reports.
