Unit Objectives:
- Demonstrate the ability to understand the task and respond appropriately using a variety of text types. PAPER 2
- Demonstrate the ability to use vocabulary appropriate to the topic and language that is grammatically accurate. PAPER 2
Unit Question: Why does our past matter?
Reading: Cajas de cartón – teacher‘s own reading material
Grammar: past tense (preterit and imperfect tense review)
Formative assessment: oral participation, reading and writing tasks, class work and quizzes.

B.TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT – GLOBAL ISSUES ( Option –Core )

Unit Objectives:
- Responds appropriately to authentic texts and demostarte an understanding of written texts. PAPER 1Understand the overall meaning of texts as well as particular detail and structural features. PAPER 1
- Demonstrate and interpret literary texts. PAPER 1 HL
Unit Question: How does modern technology and progress affect our society?
Grammar: Commands and Present Subjunctive
Formative assessment: oral participation, reading and writing tasks, class work and quizzes.

C.HUMAN RIGHTS – GLOBAL ISSUES : RACISM , PREJUDICE , DISCRIMINATION ( Core )
Sept. 23- October 8
Unit Objectives:
- Demonstrate the ability to interact in the target language within the context of different situations.
- Respond to questions and engage in general conversation using appropriate interactive skills, tone and register. INTERACTIVE ORAL
Unit Question: What are human rights ?
Grammar: present perfect –future and conditional
Formative assessment: oral participation, reading and writing tasks, class work and quizzes.
Summative Assessment: INTERACTIVE ORAL ( October 7-8)
