38th Annual La Honda Campout
Once again, it is time for our annual AA La Honda campout under the beautiful Redwoods, in Memorial Park. For all who have come in the past, please come join us once more! For those who have not...if you enjoy fresh air, the sounds of Pescadero Creek, a nice campfire, good food, and best of all, with clean and sober friends, then this is the place for you to have a weekend of many things you enjoy. Families, single, children of all ages are welcome, but sorry, no pets are allowed in the park.
Location: San Mateo County Memorial Park in La Honda Located off Wurr Road in Group Camp Area #1 (Directions are on the back)
Dates: Friday, August 4, through Sunday, August 6, 2017
Cost: It is $15.00 per person/night– Children 12 and under are FREE
Facility: Plenty of beautiful hiking trails, swimming area, close to beaches, barbecue pits, a large campfire pit, hot showers and electricity. (The showers have been converted to coin-operation! The fee is .25 for two minutes. Bring quarters!)
Helpful Hints: Bring your food & charcoal for cooking, camping gear, bio-degradable soap. Any wood for the campfire? Bring it on!! We can always use it!
Activities: The weekend is all yours! Memorial Park has special activities that you can be part of….especially for the kids.
There are three AA fireside meetings scheduled:
Friday @ 7:30 PM Campfire/Get acquainted Meeting
Saturday @ 7:30 PM Campfire/Speaker-Discussion Meeting
Sunday @ 8:00 AM 11th Step Meeting/ Speaker-Discussion
(Feel free to start up another one during the weekend!!)
Please Note: We are limited to a maximum of 70 people! Reservations are a MUST!! Please check in with Adam E. when you get at the group campsite! You need to be on the list. Showers may not be available! Bring plenty of water.

TO GET TO THE MEMORIAL PARK GROUP CAMPSITE:
Take Interstate 280 to either Highway 92 or State Highway 84.
On Highway 84, go West through Woodside and continue to La Honda. Just past La Honda, go left on Pescadero Road. Go past the SF YMCA Camp; then turn left on Wurr Road.
On Highway 92, go West to Highway 1 at Half Moon Bay. Turn South on Highway 1, towards Pescadero and Santa Cruz. Go past Highway 84, (by San Gregorio Beach), to Pescadero Road. Turn left and continue on Pescadero Road about 8 miles. Wurr Road is just past the main entrance to Memorial Park. (Don’t go into the main entrance! They get attitude!!) Turn right on Wurr Road; go past the bridge and keep bearing right to Group Campsites. We are Site #1.
