October Parents Meeting, 10/06/14

Andrea Wilder- Foundation

* CSX Grant is awarded annually. We may want to look into applying for this one again next year.

* A Grant request for Dick’s Sporting Goods is being explored.

* Reminder to sign up for Kroger Rewards. It’s free and easy. Details on website.

* A new launch boat was purchased with Foundation funds.

Fundraising – Rob Burkett, Kris King

* Beer and Wing donation requests will be sent out in late December and early January. All families are asked to donate a basket for silent auction. Also, as this is our largest fund-raiser, much help is needed to make it a success. More information to follow.

* Maggie McLoughlin and Diana Spiess are coordinating the wreath sales. Rhodes Greenhouse supplies the wreaths, swags, grave blankets, etc. They are beautiful and last a long time. Please tell family and friends. They will arrive the last week of November. Will have small amount for sale before Thanksgiving.

* Broadway Park Clean-Up is scheduled for November 8 (rain date: November 9). The day has been divided into two shifts. First shift : 9 am – Noon. Second shift: Noon- 3 pm. Please see AW Crew web site for sign up sheet.

* We are looking for someone to coordinate Mud Hens concessions.

A big Thank You to Emily Snyder for attending the meetings and working so hard at the Frogtown Regatta!! Lots of positive feedback.

All rowers must have current physical on file. If you have not turned in all forms yet, please do so immediately. Rowers must also have personal insurance coverage.

LoraleeJernas reported that the menu for rowers for the Lansing regatta includes: turkey sloppy joes, egg sandwiches, soup/chili.

Remaining regattas: Lansing 10/12, Boston 10/18 (varsity girls only), Huron Halloween 10/25.

TRC – New policy information will be available on web site shortly.

Gretchen asked that parents please step up for Board and Trustee positions. Many of these positions are currently held by parents of seniors. Please talk to a current Board member if interested or have questions. Duties are outlined in the AW Crew Handbook.

Head Coach Trevor Jones had nothing to report.
