A. Life Safety Codes for Campuses (Laskey Hall, Room B)
Terry D. Singleton, TN State Fire Marshal’s Office, West Region Supervisor of Code Enforcement, Certified Fire Officer, Certified Fire Instructor, Certified Fire Inspector
Discussion will center on NFPA & State of Tennessee fire codes as they relate to higher education facilities. Both renovation and new construction codes will be covered. The value of a good working relationship between Facilities and the State Fire Marshal's office will also be reviewed.
Terry Singleton has over 30 years in the fire service area. From he frontline as a fire fighter to working in the area of fire prevention, Mr. Singleton’s experiences more than qualify him to lead this workshop.
B. Introduction to Mold, Moisture and Remediation (Laskey Hall, Room A)

This hour-long presentation will cover the following: Mold (fungi) Basics, Sources of Moisture in Buildings, Microbiological Contamination and Remediation, Standards and Resources. This presentation will use real-world examples of mold contamination and remediation techniques used at Vanderbilt University and provide practical advice for Physical Plant staff.
C. Water Chemistry 101 (Laskey Hall, Room 101)

JasonOwen hasbeen a Project Manager for over 15 years andwith Sodexho for 7 years. During his time with Sodexho he has constructed dining, residence, and energy projects for 11 different universities. Mr. Owen has been the Project Manager for Owner's Representative, Construction Management, and Design/Build projects in excess of $350 million.Mr. Owen has obtained his contractor's license in several states, is a LEED's Accredited Professional, and is especially skilled in construction scheduling and estimating.
Larry Krison is a member of Construction Owners Association of America and has his BS in Construction Management. In construction management and engineering since 1980, Larry has been withSodexho since 1997.
Tim Ogburn has worked as an architect on education, religious, government and commercial buildings since 1993. Specifically, he has worked on projects at Freed-Hardeman University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign among others. During this session you will learn useful information from Jason, Larry and Tim to help ease your entire construction process.
