AMDF Translational Research Grants

The Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (AMDF) supports sufferers of mitochondrial disease and their families, funds essential research into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cures of mitochondrial disorders, and increases awareness and education about this devastating disease.

AMDF Translational Research Grants assist in rapidly transforming research discoveries into clinical practice. The Foundation funds exceptional researchers who have the capability to turn around ground breaking research and start to make inroads into treatments.

AMDF Translational Research Grants are charitable grants of $150,000 per year for two years, offered to researchers to assist with their work on mitochondrial disorders.

Researchers should be available to make periodic contact with AMDF staff and be able to participate in fundraising and educational events as requested by the Foundation.

Applications will be evaluated by the AMDF grant application review panel based on the following conditions. If the panel approves of the research, the application will be forwarded to the AMDF Board for final approval.
