Dear Parents/Guardian,

The National Museum of Computing (Bletchley Park) visit

On Thursday8thFebruary 2018 we are taking students to the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park (near Milton Keynes) for talks and a tour on the Museum including work done in world war II by code breakers such as Alan Turing and early developments in computers from 1940s wartime to the present day.

The itinerary is likely to be as follows:

Activities:

Briefing and tour of the national museum of computing including codes and ciphers,Colossus (a working rebuild of the world’s first modern computer), the 1950s Harwell Witch/ Dekatron (world’s oldest working digital computer) and workshop using BBC micros.

Note: Sadly we are unable to visit the Bletchley Park estate this year.

Times are approximate. Students need to bring their own packed lunch. They will be reminded to ring home from the coach 30 minutes from arrival back in the evening. Please arrange collection of your child from just inside the college entrance at this time or have suitable arrangements in place.

The cost for this unique experience is £28.00including return coach travel and educational guided visit to the National Museum Of Computing. Please return the permission slip below.You can pay for the trip via the online Wisepaysystem. You will find the link from the College website under College info - parents and carers page – Wise Pay. This will also need to be done by Friday 19thJanuary 2018.
