Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Online Advertising

Co-founder of 18-person print and digital technology company. Primarily a software development company specializing in innovative Web 2.0 applications. Premier product is the Notemark® “save engine,” a desktop tool designed to help users save, share and organize online content. Affinity partners include WebEx, Six Flags, and Ripken Baseball. Finalist in 2007 TechCrunch 40 competition comprised of 700 entrants to find the most promising 40 start-ups worldwide. Also served as COO of Brandserts LLC, specializing in proprietary print inserts, which was acquired by Notemarks LLC in March 2008.

  • Created and developed corporate business plan, financial projections and other supporting investor materials, securing over $1.7M in angel equity funding for the digital business.
  • Developed pipeline and sales plan to secure a projected $20M in revenue over 3 years.
  • Integral developer of GUI ergonomics of a broad-based public informatics aggregation tool.

  • Architected, tested and implemented multi-department process and workflow management of our entire product line of over 12 interactive print products.
  • Led the creation of strategic partnerships with several major publishers, including USA TODAY, The Tribune Co., American Media, Inc. and Primedia, providing proprietary inserts for consumer and B2B publications.

Tyco Telecommunications, Transoceanic Cable Ship Company, Baltimore, MD 2001 – 2003

Port Engineer – New Ship Construction Manager

Facilitated and implemented all aspects of a new construction program for six new, state-of-the-art, 140-meter ships—purpose-built for laying fiber-optic cable—while under construction.

  • Involved in all aspects of ship construction, from keel laying to operating ships after delivery.
  • Responsible for a $360W 3-year budget for the construction and outfitting of six ships.
  • Led post-delivery warranty and guarantee claim issues totaling over $6M in savings.
  • Involved in Fleet Operation activates to support ships on projects and in shipyards.
  • Retrofitted and redesigned main and auxiliary equipment during the pre- and post-delivery period.
  • Planned and implemented outfitting processes for original and follow-on ship delivery.
  • Planned for various lay-up scenarios for out-of-service cable ships with reduced crew.
  • Facilitated the training of engineering and technical personnel in their relative competencies.

AT&T Transoceanic, Fiber Optic Cable Ship Company, Baltimore, MD 1994 – 2001

Merchant Marine – USCG Licensed 1st Assistant Engineering Officer

Officer aboard state-of-the-art fiber optic cable-laying vessels with diesel electric power plants.

  • Maintained and operated 4160-volt A.C. generator sets, D.C. propulsion motors, computer controls, all auxiliary machinery, electrical systems, and cable machinery.
  • Managed personnel/technical equipment repairs while at sea laying transatlantic fiber optic cable.
  • Managed technical repairs and worked with vendor-specific representatives during shipyard periods.
  • Responsible for redesign of ship's systems using CAD, writing specifications for bids on contracted projects, and maintaining all engineering systems and parts.

Officer aboard 680-foot chemical and oil tankers of 15,000 HP diesel and steam power plants.
