Dear DENA Young Lasallians and the Lasallian Family,

We hope you all had a wonderful summer with at least some time for rest and relaxation. Now that the new school year is under way, we wanted to welcome you all back and touch base on Young Lasallian Initiatives.

As you probably know, the International Lasallian Days for Peace (ILDP) are right around the corner. The month long call for peace starts September 21, 2017 and runs until October 21, 2017. This is our 11th Anniversary Year and the theme is Peace Without Limits!

We want to encourage you to plan or participate in some event or action at your local ministry around the topic or theme of peace. The possibilities are endless, but could include a service project, a weekly moment of reflection, a peace-based project with your students, or simply a prayer service. We also want to make you aware of a couple of District wide events on Friday, October 20, 2017. We invite and encourage all ministries to Wear White to promote peace and to participate in a District wide Pause for Prayer, a moment of silence at noon. This year’s ILDP poster and other resources can be found on the District’s website: Visit the DENA Young Lasallian Professionals Facebook page often throughout the month for various ILDP themed posts.

Again, this year there is aILDP Grant, a $500 grant offered through the Office of Mission and Ministry. This grant is meant to assist in the implementation of a program or activity that creatively responds to the theme of Peace Without Limits!See the District website for more information including the proposal guidelines and deadline.

Like always, we also encourage you to share anything that is done by you or your ministry. Please send a picture and a brief summary of projects or services to Phil De Rita, or Maryann Donohue-Lynch, and to the International Council of Young Lasallians, . Additionally, please use the hashtag #ILDP2017 when posting to social media. If you have not already done so, please like the DENA Young Lasallian Professionals Facebook page to stay up to date with Young Lasallians.

Yours in the Founder,

DENA Young Lasallians Council
