Baden-Württemberg Scholarship/Elite Programme

In 2002, the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg gGmbH is awarding for the second time the Baden-Württemberg Scholarship for Students to the classical universities, the universities of applied sciences, the universities of education, and the music and art academies of the State of Baden-Württemberg, and also to the universities outside Germany who have cooperative arrangements with those institutions. It is intended to promote the international exchange of qualified German and non-German students.In an Elite Programme (for highly qualified graduate and postgraduate students) periods of study for non-German students at a Baden-Württemberg university and for German students[*] at a university outside Germany are funded.

Scholarship amount in Elite Programme: 670 EUR per month(for 10 months, plus additional payments)

For the Universität Stuttgart 15 scholarships in the Elite are available:

Target group: highly qualified non-German graduate and postgraduate students of prestigious partner universities abroad (priority being given to those universitieswilling to exempt Baden-Württemberg students from tuition fees). These students complete research or a part of their studies in Baden-Württemberg.

Applications for the scholarships must be submitted to the Universität Stuttgart, Office of International Affairs, Geschwister-Scholl-Str. 24, 70174 Stuttgart;
the following documents must be appended:
-Application form
-Letter of application with information on studies and career to date
-Certification of matriculation, university degree certificate or interim certificate or university transcript /first diploma (certified) and of the foreign language knowledge necessary for the study period
-appraisal by a professor tutoring the student
The letter of application must indicate whether the intended period of study abroad is an integrated semester of study abroad.
Submission date no later than 15 April 2002 (closing date)

The decision on award will be made by the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg following shortlisting by the Universität Stuttgartand appraisal by a central scholarships commission.For further details please refer to the information leaflet on the Baden-Württemberg Scholarship, available from the Universität Stuttgart, Office of International Affairs.
