Being the parent or guardian of the above rider

1) Have obtained permission from the Club’s Youth Head Coach for my child to join the Youth Guided Rides when arranged.

3) Understand that these are guided not coached rides and the leaders and their assistants may not be qualified cycle coaches.

4) Have considered the nature of such sessions and have discussed them with my son/daughter.

5) Am satisfied that my son/daughter is sufficiently responsible and competent to assume full and entire responsibility for his/her own safety while on the public highway and can ride to British Cycling’s Level 2 standard which requires riders to be capable of:

●  starting and finishing an on-road journey

●  observing the environment and factors that may affect their riding

●  signalling their intentions to other road users

●  riding on the correct part of the road they are using

●  passing side roads, parked or slower moving vehicles

●  turning right and left on a major and minor road

9) Have explained to my child that they are expected to remain in the group from beginning to end and are responsible for getting themselves to and from the meeting point. I will obtain a clear understanding before my child departs of their anticipated return time.

10) Understand that if my child persistently misbehaves or puts others in danger he/she will not be allowed to attend in the future.

11) Understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that my child’s bike is in a safe condition to ride on the day.
