House Assemblies: House Assemblies will be held this week. Pupils and staff should go straight to the Assembly Hall on their allocated day and register their class in the Hall. All pupils should be seated together in their registration class.

Orienteering: Thank you for everyone who signedup,or has showninterestin the orienteering trip on Thursday.Can all these studentscome to a meeting today(Tuesday)at lunch time to discuss arrangements. This will take place at 1.10in the games hall.Mr Kinnear (JK).

ML Corridor: This week's tune playing in the Modern Languages Dept is Le meme sang (meaning the same blood, pronounced le mem song) by Yannick Noah and it was chosen by Willie Inglis in S5. (LL)

Poetry Competition: Thank you to staff who have entered this year's poetry competition. There is still time to pen a poem and be in with a chance of winning the top prize. Our visiting poet, Richie Brown, willjudge the competition on Thursday, National Poetry Day. Staff poems will be on display from today outside the library. Make sure you have a peek.

Pupils will be putting poems on doors at lunchtimes from today - if you would prefer not to have a poem, please let Shelagh know. Thanks. (ST)

Talent Show: Main Event Wednesday 8 October, doors open 6.30pm, start 7.00pm prompt; Rehearsal Tuesday 7th October, after school, start 3.35pm. (AM)

Talent Show Tickets: Tickets will be on sale from Mr Morrison in Room G41 (Maths dept) from Tuesday 30 September, at interval, at lunchtime from 1.25pm and after school from 3.20pm. Tuesday after school is for S1, S2 pupils and any Pupil or Parent who cannot attend the Main performance on Wednesday Evening. Wednesday Evening is for S 3, 4, 5, 6 pupils and for Parents; S1 or 2 pupils can attend if accompanied by a Parent. (AM)

Debating Club: Well done to our victorious debaters last week. We have firmly established beyond a shadow of a doubtthat Burger King is indeed better than MacDonalds and that PS4 is superior to Xbox. This week we will be playing Taboo and deciding on more serious debate topics for the following week. Come along and join in the fun on Thursdays, 1pm in G12. (EH, JH, SS)

School Football: The U15 and Senior football team have a home match against Milne's High School on Wednesday 1st October, 4.30KO. U15s will play on astro, seniors will be on grass. Meet at PE changing rooms at 4.00pm. If any teachers, parents or family would like to come along and support the boys you are more than welcome. (PMcA)

INFORMATION FOR S1-S3

S2 Personalisation and Choice: As a final planning exercise for the S2 into 3 Personalisation and Choice programme I would like to meet with all S2 pupils period 2 on Thursday 2 October. Could all S2 students please report to their class teacher and then make their way directly to the Assembly Hall please. They should bring a pen or a pencil with them.(KJG)

S1-S3 Study Club: Will take place from 3:20-4:10pm on Thursdays in G45. S6 pupils will be available to assist you and PCs will be available to access Show my Homework. (Emma Gordon & Lee Mair S6)

S2 Midyis: Could the following pupils please report toB49 at the start of period 5 on Tuesday 30 September to complete their S2 MIDYIS assessment?You will return to class during period 6. Please bring a blue or black pen, pencil and a rubber. (KJG)

Senior Football: Squad list up outside Mr Baker's room and PE department for game on Saturday versus Milne’s. All players must attend a very quick meeting at 1.20pm on Wednesday to sort out team and provide info for Saturday's game away to Speyside.
