Allah: used as the name of God in Islam

agnostics: those who believe that the truth of religious or spiritual claims are impossible to prove or disprove

anthropomorphized: when nonhuman things have been treated or considered as human-like

ashram: a community formed primarily for the spiritual uplifting of its members

Brahman: a member of the highest priestly class of Hindu society

catholicity: wideness of range and inclusiveness, as in taste

Christianity: the religion derived from Jesus Christ, based on the Bible as sacred scripture, and professed by Eastern, Roman Catholic, and Protestant bodies

cosmogony: a theory of the creation of the universe

durian: a foul-smelling but deliciously flavored fruit

garden of Gethsemane: believed to be the place where Jesus and the disciples prayed the night before Jesus' crucifixion

heijira: the emigration of Muhammad and his followers to Medina in 622CE

Hinduism: the main religion of India which includes the worship of many gods and the belief that after you die you return to life in a different form
