Identity Thief

Rated MA15+

Identity Thief is a 2013 American crime comedy film directed by Seth Gordon.

The film tells the story of a regular guy Sandy (played by Jason Bateman), who has his identity stolen by a woman and is forced to go to extreme measures to clear his name. The deceptively harmless looking woman (played by Melissa Mccarthy) is living it upunder the mild-mannered businessman’s name. Sandy discovers just how crazed you can get trying to settle the score.

After the movie

Allan Watt will explain how easy it is to steal someone’s identity with modern technology. Social media platforms like Facebook fuel thieves with an unprecedented amount of information, many users forget what they put up over time and anyone following their posts can rebuild their life and take their identity. Other professional sites such as Linkedin are even more dangerous. Too much information in the wrong hands can be costly to the naive.
