Note: Depending on the background(s) of your students, this may be a difficult subject for some. Approach it with sensitivity for the experiences your students may have had.

●  Read about the Cold War, p. 166, in Citizenship for Us, last 5 paragraphs
●  Show area that was Soviet Union, China on a world map to identify some communist countries
●  Worksheet- Unit 6 War Review. The items in the columns are mixed up (Lincoln was not President during WWI!). Have students shade Civil War in blue and then shade the correct information for the Civil War in blue: A student would shade Civil War/Lincoln/1800s all in blue. Then they shade World War 1 info in yellow, Cold War in red, and World War 2 in green.
●  Students write sentences about the chart: In the 1800s, the Civil War was fought between North and South. President Lincoln was the leader of the U.S. during the Civil War.
