Day 1 Instructional Activities:
3rd Grade Resource Reading:
· Review for KPREP
· Review literature skills on answering questions, characters, setting, point of view, different kinds of stories, literal and nonliteral language, and compare & contrast literature
· Review comparing 2 stories by the same author. When you compare stories you want to see how they are similar and different. You can compare settings, plots, and/or themes.
· Read 2 stories by Alfred J. Church, “The Home of the Winds”, and “Ulysses and the Sirens”, and answer multiple choice questions comparing the stories (Common Core Ready Book)
Homework – Read 2 stories by Alfred J. Church from “the Cyclops” and from “The Dangerous Way”, and answer multiple choice questions & short answer
