On motion of seconded by, the following resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION NO.
A resolution authorizing and ratifying the sale of various Road Home Properties at the July 31, 2010 Adjudicated and Road Home Property Auction and to provide for other related matters. (Parishwide)
WHEREAS, Resolution 111390, adopted on December 10, 2008 authorized Jefferson Parish to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the State of Louisiana through the Division of Administration, Office of Community Development and the Road Home Corporation, doing business as the Louisiana Land Trust for the transfer of properties to Jefferson Parish that are managed and owned by the Louisiana Land Trust; and
WHEREAS, thirty-nine properties were transferred to Jefferson Parish for redeveloped and sale by the Community Development Department; and
WHEREAS, three of the properties that were transferred: 1229 Aris Avenue, Metairie, 6409 Carmen St., Metairie and 3828 Woodbriar Dr. did not appraise within the allowable HOME Investment Partnerships Program limits and therefore cannot be utilized by the Community Development Department and it is their desire to have them transferred back to the Road Home for sale at auction; and
WHEREAS, the properties were put up for auction July 31, 2010 and were bid on as follows: 1229 Aris Avenue to Anne Dietzway and Scott Deitzway for the high bid of $35,000.00, 6409 Carmen St. to Credo, LLC for the high bid of $21,000.00 and 3828 Woodbriar Dr. to Caudia Haupt for the high bid of $34,000.00; and
WHEREAS, because the properties have not been transferred back into the name of the Road Home and the bidders are ready to proceed to closing the Road Home is agreeable and Jefferson Parish desire to transfer title directly to the highest bidders; and
WHEREAS, all proceeds will go to the Jefferson Parish Community Development Department as is mandated by the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Jefferson Parish Council, the governing authority of said Parish:
SECTION 1. That the sale of 1229 Aris Avenue, Metairie to Anne Dietzway and Scott Deitzway for the high bid of $35,000.00 is hereby authorized and ratified.
SECTION 2. That the sale of 6409 Carmen St., Metairie to Credo, LLC for the high bid of $21,000.00 is hereby authorized and ratified.
SECTION 3. That the sale of 3828 Woodbriar Dr., Marrero to Caudia Haupt for the high bid of $34,000.00 is hereby authorized and ratified.
SECTION 4. That the proceeds from the sale of the properties shall go to the Jefferson Parish Community Development Department.
SECTION 5. That the Council Chairman, or in his absence the Vice-Chairman, is authorized to sign any and all documents required to carry out the provisions of this resolution.
