Employment History:

Milliken & Company - Judson Plant, Greenville, S.C.

  • Hired upon graduation from Clemson University in August of 1987 as Jr. Plant Engineer. Worked in this position for nine months with major accomplishments to include the installation of a new rotary screw air compressor, other miscellaneous projects, completion of the Milliken Management Orientation Program, Dale Carnegie Program, and many technical training courses.

  • Promoted to Process Engineering position over the Opening/ Carding process in June 1998. Made numerous improvements to product quality and machine reliability. Designed and solely managed the installation of a multi-million dollar opening/ cleaning operation to Milliken specifications.

  • Promoted to Assistant Engineering Services Manager in January 1990. Supervised the electronics and electronics technicians and managed process and facility projects. Also, supervised the preventative maintenance organization. Played key role in the Judson Plant's ISO 9001 Certification in 1991.

  • Promoted to Engineering Services Manager of the Drayton Plant in Spartanburg, SC in January 1992. Responsible for facility maintenance, machinery maintenance, environmental programs, and all engineering projects to include the company owned sewer system in the Drayton Community. Left Milliken in December, 1994 to pursue opportunities at Cryovac.

  • Began employment in January 1994 as Die Shop Supervisor. Initiated new die tracking and inventory program.

  • Assumed position as Radiation Engineer in July 1994 working for Bob Smith. Spent time in this position learning the ECL equipment. Successfully completed RSO training in the fall of 1994.

  • Assumed Electronics Shop Supervisor position in October 1994. Responsible for the safety, maintenance, and reliability of approximately 25 electronics cross linking units. As ARSO, I run Simpsonville's Radiation Safety Program to include all enforcement, record keeping, operator and film badge training, and day to day activities. Have successfully completed both Duncan and DHEC accelerator and source audits with no discrepancies reported. I supervise 18 skilled electronics technicians in this area. This group also acts as a technical resource for the entire facility. I am particularly proud of the continued improvement of ECLU reliability due to equipment and procedural improvements, which make the Simpsonville Plant one of the company leaders in this area. I have also led a multi- plant ECL reliability team. I recently completed the Fowler Associates, Inc. Radiation Safety Officer Course with a 97% score on the exam.
