Job Title:Programme Coordinator – Can Do

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To enable the effective and efficient delivery of our Can Do programme by working closely with the Programme Manager and/or Senior Coordinator for Can Do. This role will be responsible for the effective local delivery of the programme in designated areas, by enabling disabled young people across the programme to develop life skills and to increase their level of independence through engaging in community volunteering opportunities, and by working towards gaining qualifications and by gaining employability skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support the Can Do programme to achieve positive outcomes for disabled young people in line with project plans, Theories of Change, Quality Management and Evaluation Frameworks
•To recruit, train and manage disabled young volunteers and support volunteers in line with programme targets
•To build relationships with local schools, colleges, disability groups and services, to promote the project and recruit groups of volunteers and individual volunteers
•To work with volunteer groups and individual volunteers in a person-centred way
•To identify skills and support needs required for disabled young people to take part in volunteering and community activities
•To design and develop bespoke volunteering sessions, community activities, and skill development workshops to meet the programme’s outcomes framework
•To deliver programme activity to a range of audiences, appropriate to the ability needs of any group
•To support volunteers to complete relevant paperwork, including photographic and written evidence of achievements
•To support volunteers to contribute to the evaluation of programme delivery, through various methods, individually and through groupwork
•Collate and record accurate programme data to support programme monitoring, evaluation and development
•Support Senior Managers in the preparation of internal and external donor reports
•To work within and comply with all LCD policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Code of Conduct and Equality of Opportunity
•Support donor relationship management and new business activity, e.g. coordinating visits and events
•To organise and present at external meetings, including promotional and networking events
•To work and communicate with other Can Do Coordinators to meet the programme’s outcomes
•To deliver volunteering sessions within agreed budget framework
•To work with LCD’s internal and external communications’ teams to promote the Can Do programme
•To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Qualifications
•To be educated to A level standard or demonstrable track record in provision of programme coordination/administration
Essential Other
•To have experience of working with young disabled people
•To have experience of managing volunteers
•To have experience of developing and facilitating volunteering group sessions
•Demonstrable experience of working within a safeguarding framework and with an understanding of equal rights and equal opportunities
•Demonstrable experience of effective delivery within a programme framework
•Prior experience of building relationships with third party agencies and organisations
•Prior experience of monitoring KPIs and tracking work-flow
•Prior experience of data entry and an understanding of databases
•To have a genuine commitment to the values and ethos of Leonard Cheshire Disability
•The ability to travel within a designated area
Desirable Requirements
•To be educated to degree level
•Experience of delivering training
•Experience of obtaining press/media coverage
•Understanding of skill assessment and training techniques
