Proceeding of state council meeting 29-08-2010
A meeting of State council of Pb.G.C.T.A. was held in Govt.S.C.D. College (Boys) Ludhiana on 29-08-2010 with Prof. Jaipal Singh in the chair. Prof. Nachhatar Singh President of Local Unit extended a hearty welcome to all the members present in the meeting. Dr. Hardeep Singh Teja Gen.Secy.. present the agenda of the meeting and apprised the members about the different meetings with D.P.I.(Colleges) to discuss the problems created unnecessarily in the pay revision and Pb. Govt. notification. Taking the agenda Prof. Jaipal Singh apprised the members about the charter of demands sent to the Secretary, Higher Education and discussed all the demands thoroughly.
Each member present in the meeting condemned attitude of the D.P.I. office towards our pending issues. Dr. Manjit singh, Prof. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Nabha, Dr.Surinderpal Singh Mand, Talwara, Prof. Pritam Singh Bhangu, Kotkpura,Prof. Gurjit Singh Mann, Bathinda, Prof. Muhamad Irfan Malerkotla, Prof. Harish Kumar, Prof. Gurjant Singh, Dera Bassi,and Prof. Amarjit Kaur Ghagga, Patiala took part in the discussion and gave their suggestions for further action programme. The issues such as new designations, Professor grade in colleges, ex-India leave, attendance of teachers, problem in pay reviosn ,arear from 01-01-2006, retirement age 65 years as recommended by central Govt., Holding of D.P.C. for promotion etc. Were thoroughly discussed in the meeting. The following decisions were taken unanimously.
1 .The teachers in govt. colleges will wear black badges on 4thSest.2010 on the eve of Teachers day.
2. A website of Pb.GCTA will be prepared.Dr. Paramjit Singh, Govt. College, Hoshiarpur has been appointedconvenor and he will take help from all executive members, President, Secretary in preparing the website. All the members are requested to cooperate with Dr. Paramjit Singh.
3. A proper meeting will be sought with the Principal Secretary, Higher Education to discuss the
pendingdemandsimmediately.
4.It has also been decided that there should be no attendance register in colleges. Colleges were theattendance of teachers is recorded in attendance registers, the President and Secretary of thoseUnits first sought out the matter with Principal, if there is need they will convene a meeting andpass a resolution that no teacher will mark his/her attendance in the register and a copy of the same will be sent to the central body.
The election of the central body of Pb.GCTA has been postponed for six months unanimously by the state council of Pb.G.C.T.A. So that all the membership of all colleges will be collected. All the units are requested to submit their subscription for the year2007 @Rs.200per member and for the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 @Rs.300/-per month.
