Part II

1.  Synopsis:
This course introduces students to some of the major writers of modern English literature between the Romantic period and World War II. The course will isolate important historical moments in the period and students will learn the skills required to read literary texts in a specific historical, social and cultural context. Students will also be introduced to the major themes and stylistic features of the literature of this period. In addition, students will further develop their close reading and analytical skills.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
