ONLINE RESOURCES– WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH

The following web sites may provide research information for students and lesson plan ideas to develop instructional activities for Women’s History Month. Using the media center online catalog Destiny, a keyword search will allow you to locate resources in the UGHS media center. The Media Center Online Catalog can be assessed at UGHS from the desk top of any computer and by visiting the media center website. In addition, students have access to the GALILEODatabase. GALILEO stands for GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online, an initiative of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.GALILEO is an online library offering information that isn’t available through free search engines or Web directories. Other resources include encyclopedias, business directories, and government publications.

  1. GALILEO offers students access to over100 databasesindexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. Over 10,000 journal titles are provided in full-text. UGHS students may access the database via the media center website by clicking on the Media Center Catalog and Databases link and click onGALILEO.   1. National Museum of Women in the Arts: The only museum in the world dedicated exclusively to recognizing the contributions of women artists.
