PM 1 Is Asked to Take the Chair During the First Degree

PM 1 is asked to take the chair during the first degree.

He opens in second and stays in the chair to do the questions

DC brings candidate to the chair for the entrusting.

He goes out and PM opens in the third from the chair.

When open the grave is laid between the centre and the SW

When candidate gets to SW and is being asked for passgrip/word PM 1 leaves chair and goes to pedestal

When we get to “,,,as a pledge of your fidelity....” PM 2 goes to stand behind PM 1

When candidate seals with his lips PM 1 steps to his left and says “rise newly obligated etc” as he gets candidate to stand.

PM 2 moves forward to stand behind pedestal

When PM 1 lets go of candidate he is finished so melts away into the darkness

PM 2 then starts with the retrospection etc.

The wardens come out at the usual time and place. Suggest JW goes down to SW and they walk up to the deacons together

Deacons melt away

As PM 2 is about to hit the candidate with the maul the Chaplain should be standing by the candle

Then music

During music the pillars are moved North and South and pedestal moved East by 2 paces

Then chaplain reads Ecclesiastes

PM 2 takes it through to the end and stays standing in front of pedestal until candidate gone

Lights on and grave removed pedestal now in the east

PM 3 sits in the chair

When candidate comes in he is taken to chair and PM 3 invests him with the apron directly

Candidate taken to half way between pedestal and the centre and SD stands behind him

PM 3 does the traditional history

PM 4 comes out to do the tracing board which Kerry will hold up for him

PM 5 and 6 and 7 come out to do the working tools which IPM holds for him

PM 3 closes in the third. Candidate should be sat with someone who can show him what to do

PM 3 close in second and resumes in first
