Kimberley Minor Hockey / Cranbrook Minor Hockey

Player Movement Agreement 2012-2013 Season

The intent of this letter of agreement between Kimberley Minor Hockey Association (KMHA) and Cranbrook Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) is to define the relationship between the two associations for the 2012 – 2013 hockey season. This is a five year agreement that can be extended, Amended or Cancelled only by mutual agreement between KMHA and CMHA.

CMHA governs all development and Carded teams. The formation of any development or carded team will be a joint decision between KMHA and CMHA Boards

All players on Development or carded teams will register with CMHA and Pay CMHA fees. Coach selection and tryouts will be decided on by a joint effort between KMHA and CMHA with evaluators from both areas. KMHA coaches are encouraged to apply for coaching positions and KMHA board members are encouraged to attend CMHA board meetings as well as CMHA board members are encouraged to attend KMHA board meetings.

All players signed up to try out for a team regardless where their legal residence is have a fair tryout and are to be considered a CMHA player once fees and registration has been completed. All players trying out for a team should not be identified and the teams should be picked according to skill level to build a true Rep team with the properly evaluated kids being selected for the teams. Tryout lists should include Jersey color and number only with no names being distributed to parent’s coaches or evaluators. Teams are to be picked by Evaluators with the final three as a coach selection if requested by the Head coach. The only person with a player list will be the Association Director of Coaching and the Association President. This will be used as a guide when releasing players.

KMHA is willing to take over the Peewee, Bantam and Midget Female program from CMHA in lieu of supplying ice time to CMHA. This will free up a minimum of four ice times in Cranbrook. KMHA will request that CMHA does not place a team in category as to let the female players from Cranbrook, Creston and Fernie bypass and come to KMHA to develop a true East Kootenay High Performance Female hockey program. KMHA and CMHA are to work together to promote the female hockey program through younger ages.

This agreement becomes null and void if either party is not able to fulfill the above statement obligations.

The signatures below indicate that both the KMHA board and CMHA board are in support of this agreement.
