Mr Bharat Bhushan garu is a rare SC officer, whose strong and consistent commitment for the cause of Dalits is on 24/7 basis. His commitment is equally matched by courage and conviction. Mr Bharat Bhushan has been with Railways for 27 years and received several awards. He is the first Dalit to receive prestigious Railway Minister’s award and a recipient of operating shield from Secunderabad division for 3 consecutive years. He is a writer as well.

Our chief guest for this function is Mr Madhava Rao garu. He is a retired IAS officer and Ex Chief Secretary to Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He came from a humble background. As a son of illiterate parents, he studied in social welfare hostels, and quickly rose to hold several top positions in his career. His interests are literature, reading, and writing. He had translated Kavi Chakravarti Gurram Jashua’s Gabbilam into English. He has 3 children. One daughter is an IAS officer, and another one is a Doctor. His both son-in-laws are IAS where as his son is in private sector.

Originally from East Godavari, Mr Ramakrishna garu worked in various places in the Department of Telecom since 1990. He is a liaison officer for SC/ST employees in BSNL. His ambition is to setup a school for Dalit children.

Mrs Subhadra is a Dalit activist and a critique on Dalit women’s issues. She is a poet and a short story writer in Telugu. She is also a columnist in a Telugu magazine Bhumika. The underlying theme of all her writings is the advocacy of Dalit cause.

Dr Sudhakar is a multifaceted personality. He is Director of news in Doordarshan Kendra, Hyderabad since March, 2007. Though, his journey in life began as a child labor, his steely vigor, strong will power, ambition to rise are driven him to the stellar position he is today. His interests and achievements are countless. He is a singer as well as a good actor. A feather in his cap is his stellar performance of achieving 76 degrees with out attending formal college, with 14 Doctorates, 15 Post Graduates and 10 law subjects. He also authored of 10 books and bagged 10 awards for his contributions to the society. He is a man of mission and simply some people call him mini Ambedkar.

Mike is a businessman cum social worker. Originally coming from Tamilnadu, he lived most of his life in Bombay, moved to United States and became a successful businessman. He is the president of Omni Development Relief Fund (ODRF) working in the areas of health and education of underprivileged children in US and India.

Mr Rawat is an social activist, writer, journalist, and a film maker. He runs an NGO Social Development Forum and works among the Scavenging community in UP and runs a school for girls.
