Dear Shipmate:
It is great to hear from old shipmates who still have fond memories of their Naval service aboard the USS Thetis Bay.
We have a great organization and hold a reunion every year somewhere in the United States. This year, the 24th reunion will be held September 9-12 in Branson, Missouri.
We usually have an attendance of 70 to 90 shipmates and their ladies and sometimes children and friends.
We have shipmates attending from all three hull designations; many of them are plank owners having put the ship in commission in 1944. We also have many shipmates who served aboard CVHA-1 and LPH-6.
I served onboard from May of 1958 to October of 1961.
Come join our reunion, you’ll be happy that you did and will enjoy renewing old acquaintances and making new friends.
If you would like to join our roster and get on our mailing list, our dues are $25.00 per year per family, payable when attending reunions or no later than January 1st of each year.
There is also a registration fee of $5.00 for each person when attending reunions.
We presently have a roster of about 175 shipmates. Please fill out the form on the next page and return it to me along with your membership fee. You will receive a Thetis Bay baseball cap and a Thetis Bay eye shade for your spouse. In addition, you may receive a 3-4’ section of flight deck planking for a shipping fee of $15.00.
