Outcome 1
Describe the government portal and demonstrate how it can be used.
Evidence requirements
1.1Describe the government portal, its broad structure and general content.
Rangeexamples may include but are not limited to –
broad structure – concept of the seamless front office, multiple entry points, accessible anywhere anytime, access links to individual government agencies;
general content – government forms on-line, government information and policies on-line.
1.2Describe the reasons for e-government web guidelines for agency websites.
Rangemay include but is not limited to –standards, guidance, tips, and strategic advice on effectively using theonline channel;
evidence of two is required.
1.3Access the government portal and obtain information from three separate sources.
1.4Access own agency website via the government portal and obtain specific information.
Rangemay include but is not limited to – on-line forms, policy information, annual report information;
evidence of two is required.

Describe legal and other issues in relation to use of information from government and own agency internet and intranet websites.
Evidence requirements
2.1Describe how legislation affects the use of information from government and agency websites, and internal agency intranets.
Rangeincludes but is not limited to – Privacy Act 1993, Official Information Act 1982, Protected Disclosures Act 2000, Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007, Copyright Act 1994;
evidence of two is required.
2.2Identify why authentication of individual identity is necessary prior to accessing data through Government and agency websites and internal agency intranets.

Describe own agency internet and intranet websites and demonstrate their use.
Evidence requirements
3.1Describe the purpose and general content of the agency website and intranet in terms of its applicability and usefulness to the intended users.
3.2Explain how clients are guided and assisted in the use of the agency website.
3.3Access the agency website and intranet and obtain information.
Rangemay include but is not limited to – on-line forms, policy information, annual report information;
evidence of two pieces of information from each of the agency website and intranet is required.
