Course Description:
This course provides support for ESL and Adult Basic Education students.
This course provides instruction based on: “American Red Cross (ARC) CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer” and “Healthcare Provider First Aid—Responding to Emergencies (or equivalent).” After successful completion of this course, participants will receive two certificates:
(1) CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider, valid for 2 years, and (2) First Aid—Responding to Emergencies, valid for 3 years. These certificates will enable Nursing Assistants to work in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Adult Family Homes, and hospitals.
This course is a corequisite of NUR 107.
Course Goals:
Students will successfully demonstrate Cardio-Pulmonary Resusitation and First Aid skills.
Students must pass the Red Cross certification test for CPR/AED for the Professional Healthcare Provider.
