DETENTION RULES

While you are in Detention you will be held accountable for your own behavior. Our intent is to recognize and reward positive behavior. Additional privileges can be earned through the level system. Negative behavior will result in consequences. Consequences will vary based on seriousness of the rule violation and history of prior violations.

SAFETY

1.  Assaultive behavior to another resident or staff member will be considered a

Major rule violation and will be charged through the D.A.’s office.

2.  Withholding knowledge or concealing factual information from staff (ie.

Escape, contraband, assault, threatening/intimidating behavior) is a violation.

3.  Causing or participating in an organized demonstration riot or rebellion is not

permitted.

4.  Threatening, intimidating, harassing or sexual contact is not allowed.

5.  No physical contact between juveniles will be permitted at any time.

SECURITY

1.  Please do not tamper with any Detention equipment

2.  Any red line throughout the facility will require staff’s permission to cross.

3.  Being in another residents room is not permitted.

PROGRAM

1.  Proper hygiene will be expected.

2.  You are required to participate in school, group and recreational activities.

3.  You will be expected to perform daily work assignments and keep your room in proper order.

4.  Using profanity, abusive language, gang writing in any way is not permitted.

5.  Food will be allowed in your room only when provided by staff.

6.  6. Juveniles will comply with all staff instructions, warnings and instructions at all times.

DISCIPLINE

All staff on duty has the authority to impose some form of discipline that could

Include one or more of the following:

q  VERBAL WARNING OR REPRIMAND

q  LOSS OF PRIVILEGES

q  RESTRICTION OF ACTIVITIES

q  LEVEL DROP

q  ROOM TIME

q  REFERRAL TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY

I have read or been read the Detention Home rules. I understand what is expected of me while I am in the facility. If I have any questions regarding these rules I will further discuss them with a staff member.
