Dear Employer:
I am writing to express my interest in any future open elementary instruction positions in your school district. I am confident that my academic background and curriculum development skills would be successfully utilized in a teaching position. I will be completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education on May 7, 2017 and have successfully completed OAE 001 and OAE 012. When I graduate, I will have also completed the 4/5 Endorsement and plan on completing the K-12 Reading and Special Education Endorsements. The reasons why I believe that I would be a good fit for this position is because I always strive for excellence, expect my students to achieve with the best of their ability, and thrive on team work. In my lessons, I incorporated instruction by the school and tailored it to meet the needs of students and supplement anything the series is lacking. I do whatever it takes to differentiate the material by incorporating interventions (small groups, one-on-one), enrichment (harder books, writing what they thought would happen next), strong communication, and planning the best ways to meet each child’s needs by monitoring their learning assessments. If a student did not understand the material, I used the scaffolding method in the material and worked with them until they understood and came to their own conclusions.
I also incorporated different kinds of technology for students to use to better understand concepts with smartboards, iPads, and computers. During my student teaching experience, I initiated and developed an Artic Animal reading four-day unit that students explored and performed scientific experiments/concepts, writing sentences, reading, mathematics, and usage of art. I also refined and instituted a ten-week curriculum sequence where I maintained and endorsed the whole classroom activities/lessons. I refined and admitted many lessons that embraced student engagement, stressed critical thinking, and incorporation of subject areas. In planning for my classroom management, I provided a safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environment where students interacted in learning, modeling, and scaffolding. Both my cooperating teacher and my supervisor from the teacher preparation program complimented me on my enthusiastic classroom activities and lessons.
Please consider this resume as an expression of my sincere interest in pursuing any elementary vacancies that may arise in your district. I am confident that as a teacher in your school system, I can create a productive learning environment that is student-centered. I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you in person my ideas and qualifications at OSU-Lima on March 14th. If you have any questions or would like to arrange an interview with me, I can be reached at (419) 203-2401 or . Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Brittany Cavinder
