Apply for four-year-old kindergarten

Moreland City Councilhas a Central Enrolment Scheme for 4-year-old kindergarten. This is an agreement with most kindergartens in the Moreland area for Council to take enrolment bookings on their behalf.

Please note that Council also has central scheme for child care registration.

Age eligibility for kindergarten

2017 kindergarten / Your child must be 4 years of age by 30 April 2017.
If you have an enquiry regarding 2017 4-year-old kindergarten, phone the Children's Services Central Enrolment Officer on 9240 2271 oremail Children's Services.
2018 kindergarten / Your child must be 4 years of age by 30 April 2018.

Children are only entitled to attend one funded year of 4-year-old kindergarten. If your child is having afunded second year of 4-year-old kindergarten, you need to contact Children’s Services Central Enrolment on 9240 2271 to discuss. Do not apply for kindergarten enrolment through our online or hard copy form.

How to apply for kindergarten enrolment 2018

Create an account and login to provide your details and kindergarten preferences.

As part of the application process you need to pay the application fee with a Visa or MasterCard and upload your proof requirements

Number of kindergarten preferences

You may choose up to three kindergarten preferences. Please only choose kindergartens where you are prepared to accept a place.

Please visit as many kindergartens in your area as possible to decide which kindergartens best suits you and your child.

Application fee

There is a non-refundable fee of $20 per child. This is not a deposit payment for kindergarten fees.

Application requirements

One application must be completed for each child.

Make sure that your child’s name is the same as on their birth certificate or passport.

If a child lives with two parents and/or legal guardians, both must complete the form.

If there is a court order or parental order in place in relation to the child’s custody, you need to provide a copy. If you are the child’s legal guardian but not a parent, please provide supporting documents.

Please note application does not guarantee your child a place.

Proof requirements

You need to provide proof of your child's age and circumstances as part of your application.

Child’sage / Child’s birth certificate, passport, immunisation history letter, or immigration document.
Residency in Moreland / A recent document with your name and street address:
  • Rates notice
  • Property contract of sale (section with name of purchaser and address)
  • Tenancy agreement
  • Utility bill
  • Driver licence
  • Home or car insurance receipt
  • Medicare or Centrelink letter
If you are a student from overseas and live in Moreland, and do not have any of these documents, provide a letter from a college or university to verify your address.
