Washington DC Tour
June 4 – 9, 2018
Day 1 – June 4
8:30 am Load Luggage.
9:00 am Depart for the East Coast! (17 hours + stops to Gettysburg)
Day 2 – June 5
8:00 am Arrive Gettysburg. Stop for breakfast and time to clean up for the day. $5 stipend
9:45 am Arrive Visitor’s Center. Tour Gettysburg Battlefields. Time will be given to explore the gift shops after the tour.
12:00 pm Depart – Lunch stop along to way. $5 included
2:00 pm Arrive in Washington DC! Stop at the White House Ellipse, Martin Luther King Memorial and Vietnam Memorial.
5:30 pm Depart for Union Station. Dinner on your own in the many restaurants in the food court located on the bottom level. There is time to explore the station or take photos of this magnificent building out front. $5 included
7:00 pm Depart for the hotel in Maryland area and check-in.
Day 3 – June 6
6:00 am Breakfast at hotel. Included
6:30 am Depart for DC.
8:00 am Arrive at Arlington National Cemetery–JFK, RFK, Challenger grave site and changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (at the top of each hour)
10:30 am Depart for Library of Congress. Lunch $5 included
1:00 pm Meet and depart for the Smithsonian Museums. Arrive Smithsonian Castle. Brief Orientation to the Mall area/Free time at Smithsonian Institute (Suggestion: Group can start at the National Archives)
5:00 pm Meet and depart for dinner stop in a DC location $5 stipend
6:30 pm Guided tour of Washington DC – A professional local guide will join us for a tour of the highlights of the DC area – Washington, Lincoln, Vietnam & Korean Memorials WWII & Jefferson Memorials,the White House and the Capitol.
10:00 pm Return to hotel.
Day 4 – June 7
7:30 am Breakfast at hotel. Included
8:30 am Depart hotel and stop in Washington DC to get tickets for afternoon tour of Holocaust Museum (limited availability).
Depart for the Smithsonian - American Indian, Art, Air and Space Museums & Botanical Garden. Free-time to explore museums. $5 stipend
TBD Tour Holocaust Museum.
1:45 pm Meet at Smithsonian Castle - front doors. (Buses will pick up near here.)
3:30 pm Transfer to Ford Theatre Museum and Peterson House
5:30 pm Transfer to National Place (13th & F Streets, NW 1 block from Metro Center) for dinner. $5 included.
7:30 pm Return to hotel
Day 5 – June 8
8:00 am Breakfast at hotel. Included
9:00 am Load luggage and check out of hotel.
9:30 am Depart for Mount Vernon. $5 included
1:00 pm Depart to National Mall. Use this time to visit any memorial that the group feels they would like more time at – or for a last visit to a museum.
7:00 pm Arrive at the dock for a Dinner cruise of Potomac River around DC (7:30 pm launch) Dinner included
10:00 pm Depart for home
