a Louis Litchfield had been head coach at Frances for four years.

b best region finish: 1957: semi-finalist (beat Trigg Co.; lost to Hopkinsville); lost in first round every other time

c Larry Locke: later took Livingston Central gals to state twice; became principal at (Lyon Co.?)

d Hugh Highfil: wife (Linda) coached the gals at Dawson Springs in 1981.

e Joe McCord: also coached the C.C. gals a couple of times; brother to Bob McCord (Earlington guys; Hoptown gals).

f Jon Lawson: (from Warren East?); played at Purdue & finished at Western Kentucky.

g Jimmy Croft: first C.C. coach with a winning season since Roy McKamey in ‘73 & ‘74.

Lige Shadowan was an all-region performer from Crittenden County in 1957.

(His son Todd played football and basketball at Madisonville in 1977 and 1978...and earned a scholarship to U.K. in football.)

Crittenden County hosted the 2nd region tournament in 1959 and 1960…when consolidated schools with new gyms started taking turns as host.
