Ari Green, M.D.

Including research presentations from our inaugural MS summer research interns

Hosted by Jeffery Haines, Ph.D.

Dr. Ari Green is the Debbie and Andy Rachleff Distinguished Professor of Neurology and the Medical Director of both the Neuroinflammation and Multiple Sclerosis and Neurodiagnostics Centers at UCSF. He is also an Associate Professor of Neurology and Ophthalmology at the University. Dr. Green runs a translational laboratory dedicated to helping the accelerated development of therapeutics targeting neurodegeneration by helping to identify early, appropriate candidates for treatment and helping to rapidly measure neuroprotection. A major clinical focus of his laboratory is clinically relevant remyelination and together with his colleague Dr. Jonah Chan he developed the Small Molecule Remyelination Program at UCSF in 2013.

During this mentoring and discussion session, MS summer research interns Genesis Lipe, graduate from Marymount College interning at the Cornell Medical School laboratory of Dr. Tim Vartanian, and James Parziale currently of John Jay College interning at the NY Stem Cell Foundation laboratory of Valentina Fossati, will present summaries of their summer research projects. Learn more about our summer research internship program.

Dr. Green will discuss his personal perspective on research as a career, sharing views from his own career and the path that led him to the areas of his scientific and clinical interest.

We anticipate a lively conversation, from and for, all who attend.
