With the arrest of Shanti Deep Verma S/o Sh. Radhey Shyam Verma R/o H.No.No. 73, Gali No. 2 Sewa Sadan Block Mandawali, Delhi and Permanent address-Mohalla Khathri Pura, Naya Chavani Sarkar, Behraich(U.P) aged 31 years ,North East District Police has solved Kidnapping for ransom/Murder case of P.S. Karawal Nagar, Delhi.

TEAM:-

In order to arrest the accused several teams each headed by Insp. Lekh Raj Singh, Insp. Special staff Ved Singh Malik & Insp. Satender Pal Singh, comprising of SI Sushil Tiwari, SI Chetan Singh, HC Rishi Yadav, HC Vinay, HC Ravinder & HC Vikram Singh, Const. Amit, Const. Deepak, Const. Brijesh & Const. Vikas were constituted under the close supervision of Shri Bani Singh Ahlawat, ACP/Khajuri Khas. The component of this team were dispatched to Mumbai, Lucknow, Varanasi & Bahraich.

INCIDENT:-

A PCR call was received at PS Karawal Nagar vide DD NO. 73-B,on 21/02/13, at 8.37 PMmade by complainant Sh. Rameshwer Prasad Tiwari r/o D-11, Gali No.01, Aman Mohalla, Ambedkar Vihar, Johripur, a commission agent reporting that he had received a call from his son Sumit Tiwari’s mobile phone on his mobile phone from unknown person informing that he had kidnapped his son Sumit Tiwari and demanded Rs 2 lac for ransom,on the statement of complainant Sh. R.P Tiwari a case vide FIRNo. 102/13 U/S 364-A IPC was registered at P.S Karawal Nagar Delhi. Complainant had also revealed that his son Sumit Tiwari (Age-21) had done a three months course in Modeling and Acting from Akash Institute of Marwah Studio at FilmCity Sec.-16A, Noida (U.P).Complainant further stated that on 18.2.13, his son Sumit Tiwari had received an offer on telephone for the job from one of his acquaintances. On 19.2.13 he left the house at about 9 AMfor Akshardham for seeking the work offer to him in the Film Company. He had came back in the evening and had stated that now he has to go regularly at Sewa Sadan, Block-2, Mandawali, Delhi for practice. He had gone there on 20.02.13 and had returned back. He again went on 21.02.13 to the designated place but did not return the entire day and his mobile phone was also found switched off. The complainant stated that he had received a ransom call at about 8 pm following which he called the Police. During investigation search of the victim was made in the area of Sewa Sadan Block Mandawli, Delhi. The Police team was able to locate HN 73, Gali no 2, Sewa Sadan Block Mandawali, Delhi where the victim Sumit Tewari had been going for the last three days in the Flat of Shanti Deep Verma- a script writer. His room was found locked. On suspicion, the lock of the room was broken on 23.2.13, and the raiding team found the dead body of victim Sumit Tiwari, stuffed in a suitcase. The Crime team was called on the spot and after the inspection of scene of Crime. The dead body was removed to the GTB Hospital Mortuary for conducting Post-mortem. During the investigation several raids were conducted in the suspected hideouts of the suspectShanti Deep Verma and also at his native place Mohalla Khatripura Naya Sarkar Chhawani Behraiech UP. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was also declared to locate the culprit.

INTERROGATION & EXAMINATION:-

Shanti Deep Verma @ Rinku @Rakesh was apprehended on 2.3.13 by the Police team at Bahraich, UP, when he was going to meet his parents at home. Thereafter was thoroughly interrogated.During interrogation he revealed that he is a script writer and had written 4 scripts but none of his scripts were getting sold. His scripts were titled as ‘ Love in Kasba,’ ‘ Sampark Kranti’, ‘ Mohlat’ & ‘Pechhan’. Therefore he was in dire need of money. He hatched a plan to earn easy money and was on constant look in his facebook account. When he was contacted by with one Sumit Tewari who had sent his profile as professional actor & artist, studied in Akash Institute of Marwah Studio at FilmCity Sec.-16A, Noida (U.P), lives in New Delhi. He called Sumit Tewari in his room at Sewa Sadan Block Mandawli, New Delhi and pretended to offer work in his forthcoming film. He had again called Sumit Tewari on 20 & 21.2.13 he had made the deceased do several rehearsal after reading him portions of the script of the film. Finally, after winning the confidence of Sumit Tewari, he had shown him a short movie “Fas Gaye Re Obama” on 21.02.13 at noon in his room on his laptop. There is scene in this movie where hands and legs of the Hero are tied and his mouth is also gagged with cloth. He asked Sumit Tewari to play this scene as this scene was also in his proposed film. Thereafter Shanti Deep Verma tied the legs and hands of Sumit Tewari and also gagged his mouth as per his hidden plan. After this revealed his plan to him that he had to remain in this condition for 2/3 days or till the time he would collect the ransom of Rs 2 lacs from his parents in order to release him. Hearing this Sumit Tewari started struggling and shrieking for his release. On this Shanti Deep Verma sat on the chest of Sumit Tewari and strangulated him. After that he purchased a big suitcase from the local market of Mandawli and stuffed the dead body of Sumit in it. Thereafter he had made the ransom call to his father from the mobile of Sumit Tewari. He tried to dispose off the dead body but could not succeed. As the time passed, he could foresee that he could be arrested therefore, he had fled from his rented room on 22.2.13. After that he kept shifting from Kanpur to Allahabad, to Banaras and Lucknow to hide himself and later when he was going to his parents house at his native place Bahraich on 2.3.13, he was apprehended by Police team of PS PS Karawal Nagar.

He had also completed 10 months mass communication and journalism diploma from Delhi. After that he started writing script of Films.

TWO PERSONS INVOLVED IN TRAFFICKING OF OPIUM ARRESTED.

30 KGs OF FINE QUALITY OPIUM SEIZED.

PRICE OF OPIUM IN INTERNATIONAL MARKET APPROXIMATELY RS. 30 LAKHS.

A team of officers of the Crime Branch led by Inspr. Vivek Pathak consisting of SI Sunil Jain, HC Om Parkash, HC Rajesh, HC Mahesh and HC Mukesh under the supervision of ACP Narcotics Sh. Zile Singh and overall supervision of Addl. DCP Sh. Bhisham Singh has apprehended two persons involved in trafficking of drugs and has recovered 30 kgs of fine quality opium. The recovered opium is worth Rs. 30 Lakhs (appr.) in the international market.

Information was received on 03/03/2013, by SI Sunil Jain, that two persons namely Mukesh and Rakesh, who are residents of M.P. and Rajasthan, are indulging in sale and supply of opium in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana after procuring the same from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The information further entailed that they would be coming under footover bridge opposite Sunder Apartment, Ring road Paschim Vihar Delhi to deliver a huge consignment of opium to a contact between 1.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. A trap was laid around under foot over bridge, opposite Sunder Apartment, Ring Road, Paschim Vihar, Delhi. Two persons namely Mukesh and Rakesh were apprehended at 1:55 PM and 15 kgs of fine quality opium was recovered from the possession of each of them. Total 30 kgs of opium was recovered. A case vide FIR No. 37/13 dated 03.03.2013 U/s 18/29 of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch.

Mukesh S/o Sh. Berulal R/o Vill. Shakar Kheri P.O. Suthi P.S. Nahargarh Distt. Mandsor M.P. Age: 34 - yearswas subjected to intensive interrogation. During interrogation, he has disclosed as under:

Mukesh is a 34 years old man. He was born in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. His father is a farmer. Mukesh studied upto 6th standard and is a drop out from school. He came in contact with one Dhanraj of Mandsaur about one year back, who was indulging in illicit supply of opium in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab. Due to rising expenses and to earn easy money he became an associate of Dhanraj and started selling opium with him. This time he came along with one Rakesh Pattedar to supply the opium after obtaining it from Dhanraj of Mandsaur (M.P). but was caught red handed.

Rakesh Pattedar S/o Sh. Nandlalji Pattedar R/o Vill. Samarda P.O. Karunda P.S. Choti Sadri Distt. Partapgarh Rajasthan. Age: 30 - years was subjected to intensive interrogation. During interrogation he has disclosed as under:

Rakesh is a 30 years old man. He was born in Partapgarh, Rajasthan. His father is a mason. Rakesh studied upto 10th standard and dropped out of the school due to poor financial condition of the family and like his father and younger brother he also started working as a mason. Later, he fell in bad company and became an alcoholic due to which his family deserted him. Rakesh started living separately in the same village and started working as a watchman in a cable company. The job of watchman was not enough to meet his demand of liquor. Rakesh was known to Mukesh and Dhanraj who were indulging in supply of drugs. Due to rising expenses and to earn easy money he started selling Opium with Mukesh after obtaining it from Dhanraj of Mandsaur (M.P.).

Further investigation of the case is in progress.

PROCLAIMED OFFENDERS ARRESTED

In the first instance the Spl. Team of P.S Bharat Nagar arrested one proclaimed offender namely Bhupender s/o Bhagwan r/o H.No. 72 Data Ram, Society Sec-8 Rohini, Delhi. He was declared P.O on 13.12.12 by the Hon'ble Court of Sh.Vishal Singh, M.M Rohini Court in case FIR No. 338/07 u/s 325/07 IPC P.S. Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. ASI Naresh Rana received a secret information about the presence of proclaimed offender Bhupender in the area of Ashok Vihar, Delhi. He laid a trap and apprehended him from main bus stand Ashok Vihar, Delhi.

In the second instance the Spl. Team of P.S Mahendra Park arrested one proclaimed offender namely Rinku @ Rajiv s/o Gopi Chand r/o Vill+PO- Bad Ghera, Distt. Gurgaon, Haryana. He was declared P.O on 5.1.13 by the Hon'ble Court of Sh. Sushil Kumar, M.M Rohini Court in case FIR No. 195/99 u/s 147/148/149/353/323/186 IPC P.S Jahangir Puri, Delhi. HC Anil Kumar and Ct Sanjeev received a secret information about the presence of proclaimed offender Rinku @ Rajiv in the area of Gurgaon, Harayna. They laid a trap and apprehended him from his address Vill+PO- Bad Ghera, Distt. Gurgaon, Haryana.

  • Mohd Javed – The main accused in Nizamuddin double murder case arrested
  • He had been absconding ever since the murder of mother and daughter in Nizamuddin Basti since November last year

The South East District has arrested the main accused in the mother daughter murder of Nizamuddin in November last year. The accused persons had opened fire on both the mother and her daughter at their residence in Nizamuddin Basti. The victims had been rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where the daughter had been declared dead after preliminary treatment. The mother had sustained severe injuries and passed away subsequently. One accused, Zaki, had been arrested on 26.11.12, but the main accused, Mohd Javed had been able to evade arrest up till now.

On 2.3.13 at about 09:00 pm, Mohd Javed was apprehended behind Humayun’s Tomb near the Railway Lines, on specific information received by HC. Amit Tomar.

INCIDENT

On 21/11/2012 at about 10.52 PM, a PCR call was received at Police Station Hazarat Nizamuddin regarding a firing incident at Alwi Chowk, Basti Niizamuddin. It was found that two ladies had been shot at H. No. T-405 Khusro Nagar Basti Nizamuddin and had already been moved to AIIMS Trauma Centre by their relatives. Two empty shells of 7.65 bore were found on the bed of first floor room of the house.

The injured were identified as Shadmani (38) w/o Aslam Khan and her minor daughter aged 17 years. Initially, a case of attempt to murder, vide FIR No. 403/12 u/s 307 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act was registered at Police Station H.N. Din. The girl died during treatment on 22.11.12. Her mother Shadmani also succumbed to her injuries on 12.01.13

INVESTIGATION

During the course of investigation it was found that Mohd. Javed s/o Late Raisuddin R/O IInd floor T-405 Khusro Nagar Alwi Chowk Basti H.N. Din was a resident of the same premises in which victims lived. On the fateful day, i.e. 21.11.12 at about 09:30 pm, Mohd Javed and his friend, Zaki had a heated verbal exchange on a petty issue with the lady and her daughter. Mohd Javed and Zaki left in anger and returned at about 10:30 pm. They shot both the ladies inside their first floor residence. The accused persons also fired in the air while escaping from the spot.

During investigation accused Zaki s/o KamalAhmedr/oVillage Akbarpur Jhoja PS Gulawati Bulandshahar UP was arrested on 26.11.12. However, despite efforts, the main accused, Mohd Javed could not be arrested up till now.

THE TEAM

A special team was constituted to search for Mohd Javed. The team was led by SI. Nagender including HC. Amit Tomar, Ct. Yasin, Ct. Haneef and Ct. Omkar under close supervision of Dr. Joy Tirkey, Addl.DCP South East District.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED

  1. Mohd. Javed s/o Late Raisuddin R/O IInd floor T-405 Khusro Nagar Alwi Chowk Basti H.N. Din – He is semi literate. He has a past criminal record and was arrested in two cases of robbery and criminal assault in PS. H N Din in the year 2009.
  1. Zaki S/O Kamal Ahmed R/O M-22 Abul Fazal Enclave Okhla and Permanent Add. Village Akbar Pur Jhoja PS Gulawati Buland Shahar Uttar Pradesh – He also has a past criminal involvement and was found involved in one attempt to murder case of PS Gulawati Bulandshahar UP.

ONE ROBBER ALONGWITH ONE JUVENILE APPREHENDED

INCIDENT:

On 1.3.13, complainant Ram Pravesh resident of Bhalswa village reported that at about 2.15 PM, he was on the way to his Kabari Shop to AL Market, Jahangir Puri and when he reached at G-Block, Jahangir Puri, two boys appeared before him.One boy caught hold his neck while another one beat him bitterly and stabbed him. They robbed him of his MTS mobile phone and cash Rs 2400/- from his pocket. When a passersby came to his help, accused persons ran away from the spot towards G–Block Jhuggi. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 67/13 u/s 394/397/34 IPC was registered at PS Jahangir Puri and the investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation, the staff of PS Jahnagir Puri made sincere efforts and arrested accused person namely Firoj Alam @ Alam @ Safed S/o Mehmoob Alam R/o N-38, C-399, CD Park, aged 20 years on 2.3.2013. One juvenilewas also apprehended for involving in the crime. Robbed mobile phone was recovered from the possession of accused Firoj Alam.

INTERROGATION:

During interrogation, accused persons have confessed their guilt.

TWO CRIMINALS ARRESTED WITH FOUR ILLEGAL ARMS

The Anti Auto Theft Squad of North West District has arrested two criminals namely Ajeet Singh @ Sonu and Sushil @ Pandit.four country made arms i.e. two pistols with 25 rounds of 7.65 bore, one revolver with 5 cartridges of .32 bore and one Katta of .315 bore have been recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT:

A dispute on possession of a piece of land in the area of Burari is going on for the last one year between two groups of criminals/land grabbers in the area of PS Burari, Delhi. One group was headed by Anil Swami and Sonu Bihari, both Bad Characters of PS Shalimar Bagh and PS Jahangir Puri respectively. While the second group was headed by Sonu Tyagi r/o of Muzzafar Nagar (a sharp shooter of notorious gangster Vicky Tyagi) and Manoj Rai r/o Jahangirabad, Distt. Bulandshaher UP. On 11.2.13, Manoj Rai and Sonu Tyagi group attacked their rival group by entering their property dealer office under the name and style of “Yash Properties” in Burari. In this incident, Saurabh and Jagmohan both members of Anil Swami's group sustained serious injuries. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 38/13 dated 11.2.13 u/s 452/308/323/506/34 IPC PS Burari, Delhi was registered. During investigation of this case, accused Manoj Rai was arrested and rest of his associates were evading their arrest.

To avenge the assault, Anil Swami and Sonu Bihari group contacted their links in Meerut , UP andprocured four country made arms i.e. two pistols with 25 rounds of 7.65 bore, one revolver with 5 cartridges of .32 bore and one Katta of .315 bore with an intent to commit murder of the rival group members. On 3.3.2013, on receiving secret information regarding the planning of the Anil Swami group, the below named team laid a trap in the area of Jahangir Puri and apprehended Ajeet Singh @ Sonu S/o Mam Chand R/o H. No. 687-688, Block A , Bhalswa Dairy, Delhi (aged 22 years) and Sushil @ Pandit S/o Ram Chander R/o C-121, Shiv Mandir Road, Sawroop Nagar, Delhi (aged 27 years) and on search, they were found carrying the above said illegal arms and ammunition. Accordingly, FIR No 71/13 dated 3.3.2013 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Jahangir Puri has been registered and both accused were duly arrested.
