Ensure delivery of quality food to residents /
- Direct assistance with delivery of food services to residents and assist with preparation of meals as required
- Ensure sufficient food & drink supplies are available in conjunction with the cook
- Ability to retain individual preferences of residents and / or their dietary requirements
- Ability to relieve as cook with cooking duties if required
- Responsible for resident morning & afternoon tea
- Ensure duties lists are accurate and up to date
- Minimal resident complaints
- Meals times met
- Residents receive meals in line with their preferences
- All meals delivered in line with individual dietary requirements
- All duties performed as per duties lists
Consult residents on meals desired and choice /
- Ensure residents are aware of daily menu items
- Provide choice of meals at all times
- No complaints re variety
Ability to relieve as cook with cooking duties if required /
- Menu items cooked
- Appropriate food supplies on hand at all times
- Meal times are met
- Co-ordinate all kitchen/dining room activities including all food service processes and procedures
- Order, store and monitor Food on a daily basis
- Co-ordinate Food Service Staff and provide assistance to other staff at meal times as required ie. Volunteers
Ensure compliance with legislative requirements /
- Food safety plan followed at all times
- Ensure compliance with OH&S requirements
- Food service equipment cleaned
- Food safety plan is complied with
Keep kitchen and dining facility in clean and tidy state /
- Ensure that dining room is in a tidy and safe state
- Facilitate cleaning regimes in kitchen and dining room including appropriate documentation
- Ensure appropriate linen supplies
- Clean and tidy kitchen / dining area
Commitment to Quality & Continuous Improvement /
- Input to the CQI committee
- Assistance in preparation of the facilities Accreditation application
- Compliance with Mercy Health policies and procedures
- Minimum of Compliance with Accreditation in Standard 4
- Adherence to Mercy Health policies and procedures

- Complete incident reports
- Elect and support health and safety representatives
