Message from Ms. Burke

Dear Team and Family –

Happy October! We have an exciting week ahead. Join us on Tuesday, October 3rd for our first Literacy Night of the Year! This night is geared toward 1st through 5th grade families, so we can all focus in on getting our scholars reading a ton this year. We invite you to join us and spend time reading with your scholar. Snacks will be provided as well :) Also, coming up this Friday is our Chat with the principal. You must rsvp by Wednesday for this event. Only those families who rsvp will be able to attend as space is limited. During the month of October, we will be consistently focusing on scholars building each other up as a Team and Family by being kind to one another. We are looking forward to another great week as we focus on closing the achievement gap for all of our scholars.

Thank you for your partnership!

Columbus Day

October 9th we will not have school in observance of Columbus Day. School will resume on Tuesday October 10th.

Coffee with The Principal

We are approaching the 1st of October and we will be having our 2nd coffee with the principal/Lead Team. If you would like to join us please RSVP with Miss Rosie by October 3rd. Another reminder will be sent out next parent weekly as well. 15 people will be the max that we will allow to RSVP so do so as quick as possible.

Items that are not Permitted in School

Fast food bags are not a healthy choice for breakfast or lunch. Please avoid sending your scholar to school with these items. Scholars may also not bring candy, gum or large bags of chips to school. We are working toward a healthy kids’ initiative this year! All Pokémon cards and toys should stay at home and any incentives earned at school must remain away during instructional time.

Wolf Binders

Please be sure to check your scholar’s wolf binder on a DAILY basis. There may be important notes from teachers, you can see how many wolf bucks your scholar earned that day, and there may be something that you need to return to school. The Wolf Binder is key to daily success for your scholar. Please help us reinforce responsibility, organization and safe-keeping!

Wolf Pack

We wanted to take a moment to thank our parent volunteers/wolf pack members. All of the work that you do on our campus does not go unnoticed. If anyone would like to join our wolf pack, please fill out a parent volunteer form at our front office. Be sure to bring your ID with you. Thank you all!

AR Testing

Scholars can AR test, in their quest to become Word Masters and Royal Readers, any morning during homeroom. Scholars must first check in with their homeroom teacher. Only scholars are permitted in the AR Zone during this am time. We currently have 4 word masters. Let’s continue to encourage our scholars to have a book in hand and read, read, read! Congratulations to our very first Royal Reader, 5th Grader Joshua Shadron!

Grade Level Class DOJO Winners – Leaders of the Pack!

Please help us congratulate our mighty 3rdgrade scholars for winning our DOJO Challenge last week. This means that Tuesday 3rdgrade scholars may wear crazy shoes (as long as they’re safe) and their Leaders of the Pack bracelet. Keep up the great work, 3rd grade!
