Mobility / Definition of mobile
grade is EO and above, working full time hours. Mobile staff can be required to transfer to any Civil Service post anywhere in the UK or abroad. / Implementation date 1 April 2014:
This mobility clause is applied to new starters; to existing contracts at the point of promotion, or when transferring to Acas. All working patterns at all grades are considered mobile to enable them to be permanently transferred to any Civil Service post within the UK and abroad, if deemed reasonable.
Occupational Sick Pay / 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay. / 1 month paid sick absence per 1 year of employment up to a maximum of 5 months full pay 5 months half pay.. Implementation date not yet confirmed – due in late 2015/2016
Annual Leave / 25days on appointment, increasingby 5 days to 30 days after five years service.
All staff employed in Acas before 1 April 2014had 1.5 days privilege leave added to their annual leave. Staff on temporary contracts employed before 1 April 2014 also received the re-branded privilege leave until such time as a new permanent contract of employment is offered, where they are offered 25 days leave entitlement. / Implementation date 1 April 2014
From1 April 2014:Annual leave on appointment for new starters will be 25 days, increasing by 5 days to 30 days after 5 years service. Length of service annual leave entitlements will remain unchanged for existing Civil Servants subject to the maximum stated.
Privilege Leave / 1 privilege day per year (Queen’s birthday). / Implementation date 1 April 2014
The Queen’s Birthday will be retained for all staff.
If transferring on promotion, civil servants will not retain their re-branded 1.5 days, where applicable. Please also see below.
From 1 April 2014
All employees will have 1 privilege day (the Queens birthday).

You will be employed on the existing terms and conditions of Acas as set out in the table above.

2. I am a civil servant who is not on modernised terms & conditions. I am applying for a post on promotion. What will my terms and conditions of service be if employed by Acas?

You will be employed on the modernised terms & conditions of Acas as set out in the table above.

3. I am a civil servant who is on modernised T&Cs. I am applying for a post at, or equivalent to, my existing grade or on promotion.What will my terms and conditions of service be if employed by Acas?

Where Acas has not already adopted modernised Terms and Conditions, you will transfer into Acas on your existing modernised Terms and Conditions. This is until Acas implements modernised Terms and Conditions, when you will move onto the modernised Terms and Conditions of Acas according to the table above.

4. How do I know if I am on modernised Terms and Conditions?

If you joined the Civil Service before April 2013, and have not been promoted since this date you are not on modernised T&Cs. If you joined the Civil Service or have been promoted after this date and are unsure whether or not you are on modernised T&Cs, please contact your HR Department.

5. What if my move is compulsory?

If you are moved on a compulsory basis, the above would apply unless it would result in a detrimental change.
