Session Description:Data privacy and security are increasingly prominent topics for you, your customers and your service providers. Knowing what the issues are in these areas and how to address them can significantly reduce your exposure to the risks that privacy and security may pose to your organization. The legal landscape in these areas is constantly changing. This presentation will examine these issues from the perspectives of the service provider, financial institution and customer. We will discuss how you can stay current on legal requirements, mitigate risk and properly set expectations.

Speaker Bios:

Charles Russmanis the chair of the Data Privacy and Security Practice Group at Bodman. He oversees a talented team of attorneys helping clients of every industry sector and size to defend their data. Mr. Russman regularly assists clients by providing practical and easy to use counsel on all aspects of data privacy and security and hehas earned his Certified Information Privacy Professional US (CIPP/US) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).Mr. Russmanalso regularly speaks and writes about data privacy and security issues,healthcare reform, HIPAA, and other employee benefits and executive compensation.

He is also an adjunct professor of law, teaching employee benefits and executive compensation at Wayne State University Law School. He was listed as a "Rising Star" 2016 byMichigan Super Lawyers, and is a member of the 2017 class ofMichigan Lawyers Weekly"Up and Coming Lawyers."

Mr. Russman is active in a wide variety of activities outside of the office including the American Jewish Committee completing the Anti-Defamation League Glass-Sills Leadership Program, and teaching yoga.

Katherine Razdolsky Rothsteinis a member of Bodman's Enterprise Procurement Group, Data Privacy and Security Group and Intellectual Property Group. Rothstein’s assists clients with the review, preparation and negotiation of vendor agreements and other commercial contracts. Her practice focuses on matters relating to treasury management products, services and systems, such as drafting and updating clients’ standard forms and agreements, negotiating contracts for software and services, and counseling clients on mitigating risks associated with treasury management products and services.

Ms. Rothstein serves on the board of directors oftheGreat Lakes Environmental Law Center andthe Detroit Treasury Management Association.

Allison Flexer is a Director of Treasury and Financial Operations and is based out of the company’s Charlotte office.In her role with Vizant, she is responsible for overseeing the delivery and implementation of Vizant’s Financial Operations, Treasury Management and Business Payments solutions for premier national engagements.

Ms. Flexer was previously with KPMG and Bank of America and has 14 years of experience in the financial operations, treasury management, business payments and efficiency and process improvement arena providing strategic insight and guidance on business operating models that support an organizations’ efforts across Treasury Management, Enterprise Payments and Technology and Operations. Ms. Flexer has extensive experience in leading large scale complex engagements for global financial services organizations.
