Media Arts is a broad field and the program will prepare students for entry level jobs in many fields.

For this CA, what process was followed to ensure the required and possible elective courses were adequate for entry level employment (such as advisory committee input, surveys, industry feedback, licensing or accreditation agencies)? How often do/will you re-examine the effectiveness of certificate requirements?

The Photography and Graphic Design Certificates were approved in May of 2015 after being vetted at the local level, Central Region Consortium and State level.

Media Arts was approved during the summer of 2016 after being vetted at the local level, Central Region Consortium and State level.

The certificates will be re-examined every 3 years.

  1. What is your annual completion target (number of certificates awarded) for this CA? What was the number of awards in this CA for each of the past three years? Based on your results, what changes could you make in your program to meet or continue to exceed your target (such as course content, scheduling/sequence, outreach, instructional strategies)?

For the 15/16 academic year applications are still being processed, but approximately 8 Graphic Design and 5 Photography Certificates have been given so far.

Because these are new certificates we will be closely monitoring them in the first few years as we build up interest in the program, collect date, and get students into the sequences.
